There's way too much to write about, but I spent this past weekend in Los Angeles meeting photographer Pamela Littky (website) and the band Fall Out Boy. I will be working on the art/design for the new FOB album with Pamela and I'm very excited. They're really cool guys and she's an amazing photographer. What can I say? I've been blessed to work with some great people.
They are cool guys and the album packaging/photography/art is going to be a blast to work on.

has been a really awesome month. the book came out, orders have been great, response to the new site and work has been good... can't complain about much. i am planning on some new prints in the coming weeks and yes, this book is going to be the first of more to come in the future... i've got some ideas...

go and buy this album. On iTunes or the actual CD itself...pick it up. don't download it from somewhere - support Lupe. He's certainly one of the most unique artists around today and whoever did that album cover must be a really great looking guy...

anyways... i must say it's fun to look at the cover i did on iTunes, amazon, and tomorrow when i go to best buy to take pictures of it on the shelves... what can i say - i'm excited i got to be involved on this project.

was amazing. Sometimes I really have to take a minute to sit back and wonder why I have been so blessed in this life. I certainly don't deserve all the things I've been given.

i'm grateful for all the orders that i've gotten since the launch but not so grateful for the amount of work running a warehouse out of your apartment can be. oh well. strangely rewarding after you spend a few hours at the post office making suckers wait in line behind you while the worker tries to figure out the best way to ship a tube to south korea

i started volunteering at a humane society last night a few minutes from my house. i have a place in my heart for dogs, that's for sure. and i love working with them. there was a pit bull there who was in labor with NINE puppies. there is also a dachsund who came in originally with another dog friend and [the humane society]was instructed to adopt them out together. well they didn't, and now Andi the dachsund is by himself and put on a sickening amount of weight. his belly drags between his legs. it's sad really. but he's been doin better apparently.

that's all. it's just really nice to do something that is not self-serving sometimes. ... i can say that it's more rewarding than a lot of jobs i do. just to be totally honest. nice to help something other than yourself out sometimes

rest assured, the new mewithoutYou album 'Brother, Sister' will be the best album released in 2006. i've already heard a lot of it. i mean, Jeremy Enigk guest vocals? wow...

truly the most powerful band I've ever seen live....been following them since they blew up Cornerstone several years ago and they've only gotten better since.

if you need to hear something refreshing and are truly bored with 99% of hip-hop and all these silly bands that come and go year in and year out, please go buy one of their old albums while you wait for the release of the new one. A to B: Life and Catch For Us the Foxes

always inspiring to hear them stand their ground regarding their faith as well. not one of these bands that are all wishy washy about their beliefs.

the response to the new site both in emails i've gotten, orders i've gotten, and just what people are saying on the web-world are truly overwhelming. thank you to everybody who has bought something so far or supported me in any way.

on another note... i think it's pretty funny the amount of criticism i get for my website sucking. i mean, the work list on the left, you click it, and it shows up on the right. it's pretty simple. haven't the people who criticize me for having a crappy site noticed i'm not a web designer? i'm hardly a designer of any kind. i'm just an artist who knows some basic html. so get off it already.

my sites always have been, are, and always will be as basic and easy as possible - both for the user and for me to update. this current one being the easiest all the way around that i've done yet.

so here’s the new site - new blog, new work, new prints for sale, and a book for sale that I’m very excited about. it’s a true pleasure to be able to get my work in people’s hands in a more tangible way than just the website. websites these days, especially artist portfolio websites, are feeling stale. there’s been so many times i look through an artists’ site and think, wow, this is great work, i wish i could have a book of it instead of looking at it on a screen. and some artists do take the initiative to do a book, and i wanted to be one of them. so without the support of any publishers or anything, i have created a small book of my work - 28 pages, 5×7, 2,000 copies. it’s an entirely self-funded and designed project and i have to say, a very rewarding feeling to hold a finished copy in my hands. i hope you’ll buy one - i’m throwing in extras - stickers and pins and a cool little 4×6 postcard. it’s just $10 plus shipping. another thing i’m just as excited about is 4 new prints for sale - three are 18×24 and the other is 16×20. i’ve also reprinted ‘vacations’ at 18×24 on matte. the 18×24 prints are $25, the 16×20 is $20. they ship in heavy duty mailing tubes, i promise they’ll be in good shape when you get them, ready to hang/frame/burn/whatever you want to do with them.

and last, but not least, is the new site. frames. yes, frames. don’t hate me for it, it’s just the easiest way to organize and present my work. i’ll be posting news and other little random things on this blog from now on too, so keep an eye on it, sign up on the mailing list, go look through the new site, and go buy the book or some prints or something from the store! http://www.npandco.com is the store link! without further ado, check some pictures of the book and new prints below. more at the np&co site!
